that article is on the offical LFC site BUT is not official news
it is in the 'transfer gossip' section which takes news form other sources

i.e. that is NOT official news from LFC

One thing I would agree about is that the objective for Liverpool is to create space on thier payroll. And if we are paying say 66% 0f 90K, 30K is relatively small amount in that context. So where is the benefit to Liverpool? Doesn't add up to me.

What do liverpool get out of that? And don't say saving 30k a week because that's not really much incentive.
Not im saying this is going to happen, but just answering the question: theyd be saving 80k a week (from paying 110k down to one-third of 90k) plus getting a player valuable playing time in the PL.

Weighing up paying 110k for a player to warm the bench or 30k for the same player to go out on loan makes sense, surely?

Pretty sure they could get 5-8million for him which would be easier but yes I guess they are saving money that way. Still can't see Joe Cole reluctantly taking a pay-cut to be honest.

Sorry my figures were the wrong way round. I dont think gametime is that relevant, Matty. Noot if they are shipping himout, they will have other fish to fry.

Yea im with you tbf in that I dont think he will come to us, but was just tryna say I could see the theory (for Lpools benefit) in such a deal. Gametime (providing he plays well) would increae his value because, as it stands, hes done nothing for a few years and so probably wont be able to get much at all for him.

I'd love to think we could get better value for our cash. If indeed the budget is there in the first place which, pre-takeover is debatable.

At some stage, probably when he was still young at west ham, That fella was argueably the mosh gifted english midfielder of his generation. Such a shame.

Just wondered if he ever really settled up north which may explain his form decline. Maybe a move back to London is just what he wants.
Yes he has a place just off the Kings Road, and a place in Surrey. Not too sure about the Surrey home but i know he kept the London one, it is being let out but yes he has it there should he want to return to London. Plus his wife definately has been quoted that she prefers London and has many friends here.

                              Thanks mate, I thought so.
I saw him with GF/Mrs C in the West Ham shop at Lakeside a few years back, while he was with Chelsea

So West Ham return? nah, wants prem football
Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal? nah, wouldn't get regular place,
                              So it's us or Fulham.....

I actually think he's completely snookered, and won't go anywhere.
