What is a proper or real QPR fan?

Read a few posts today about 'real' fans or 'proper' fans but what is one?

How far does your support have to go to be called one? Are our foreign fans who may only see one or two live matches a season not proper fans even though they travelled long distances to see the Rs.

There seems to be a few fans who want to speak on everyone's behalf and tarnish those who's opinions differ with the same brush.

A Fan is a Fan, we all have differing circumstances and opinions, but we all have one thing in common and that is we all support the greatest team on Gods earth. U R'ssss
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

Anyone who considers themselves a fan is a fan in my book. Can't stand all this childish stuff we see from some posters about how they are somehow more "real". A fan base is made up of lots of different characters and opinions. Also just because some fans are super-dedicated and would travel to Partick Thistle to see our reserves play in a friendly, there are plenty of others who love the Rs but for whatever reason don't get to go very much (cost, work, location, age, famiy commitments, whatever). Old boy along my lane who I suspect hasn't gone for years now but still shouts out "you Rs" as I drive past. He's still a fan but prob has better things to do than waste hours on here...

If someone just pays what the club asks and accepts what they do, they are a real fan, if on the other hand you question this or that, you are not........ according to Connors.

All QPR fans are equal in my eyes regardless of how many games per season attended

Disagree with many on QPR matters and some I cannot stand but none would get so passionate if they did not feel the same way about supporting QPR as me

A QPR fan doesn't need to be qualified. The adjectives are divisive. Some believe that others don't see or ignore certain truths. They stick a label on them which can never reflect the full picture. Just QPR fan will do.

Couldn't agree more mate! The fact some people get to go to more games than others for various reasons (the cost, working, family, travelling etc) doesnt show that theyre a "better" fan at all. As you say, anybody that supports QPR and cheers us on and has a smile put on their face when we pick up 3 points is a QPR fan

Through the boards lack of respect for the club and its fans we are turning on each other! For me if you say your a Rs fan thats golden regaurdless of the politics involved. We all have differing views even if some do seem wrong. I mean c'mon what fan in there right mind would support us unless the are Real/Proper.

You must have a QPR tattoo, own a Clash album and still have the ticket stub from Chesterfield away.

The fact that some people abuse a certain player's (or potential signing's) ability and committment really annoy's me at times. The way some people attempt to disect the teams performance and an individual's effect on a game from tv highlights, radio reports and other comms causes real anger some times as well.

What the above and other similar habits has to do with someone's level of passion, support or otherwise, I'm not really sure, but it can be frustrating when these people try to ram their opinions down your throat despite the fact you follow the team home and away every season.

We are all entitled to an opinion and we are all from the same stock - Rangers fans for life so the suggestion that a is more ardent than b or other arguements is for the simple minded I'm afraid. But, to reiterate my point, I have my own opinions on life, women, football and above all QPR, and all based upon my own degree of intelligence and experience so yes, I will bite back if someone from a far away land, that see's the team play once in a while on a foreign tv link, tells me for a fact that this player is rubbish or not worth his place or that system is flawed or even, for that matter, that I am a mug for buying my season tickets and going far and wide to support the team I love.
