has been the end of him for a year now. we need to seriously get a few big earners from the reserves off the wage bill.

although cookie can have more of an excuse through professionalism and sheer loyalty to the club. not many players would give their old club the signing on bonus he recieved at the new club

slightly different slant, but does dave's inclusion mean that the premiership better start preparing itself for a new style of 'impact sub'?

Shame about cook. Funny enough I was watching the season review dvd for 08-09 and his crossing was top notch. Good player on his day, injuries taken their toll though.

We can all live in hope, but someho, I think we will be disappointed.

The chances are QPR will be signing a few frees as souvenirs from their Italian tour, (probably from Serie B & C, because they are cheaper).

I notice that Rowlands, Cook, Pellicori and Alberti are also omitted from the squad along with Ramage, Cerny, Shittu. The latter three are fitness issues, so surely the other 4 are surplus to requirements.

Any takers on the horizon? that should free up around £50k per week.
also noted that Hulse is not going either, Is he injured or surplus. these players, if gone, would freed up about £60K per week as a minimum.

ok, so we are taking a squad of 21 and if we assume on that basis that we sign Murphy, Gabbidon, Perone and Webber, then there are only 4 more places available in the senior squad, if a squad of 25 must be declared?

Ramage, Cerny, Shittu should all be certs given they were offered new contracts a month ago.

Which leaves a fight for one more place? who is this international man of mystery?

                Bullard?

Secondly, that means everyone else is available for loan or transfer?

Hope not!...He's a good keeper and was a true professional playing 2nd fiddle last season.

Looking at the 21 that have gone to Italy and assuming the trialists sign, it looks like QPR may be close to the 25 man squad.

Ramage Shittu and Cerny all signed new deals so it would we odd not to see any of them in the 25.

That adds up to 24 players. With just one spot left, one may thing that we would be looking to strengthen in the Left Back area since we only have Hilly and no back ups.

However we seem to be after Puncheon and DJC.

Mackie, good point, he could be in the 25 if fit by the deadline.

So does it come down to Bullard vs Perone and DJ vs Webber, because they cant all get in the 25 man squad!

And on that basis, Naughton could only have replaced an existing defender who would have been sold?

Puncheon or Routledge would only replace Hogan or Moen in the squad, who would have to move on?
