    John Carew

I hear Warnock wanted him to lead the line for us next season, apparently he was keen as well. Despite initial contact between the club and the player, the club just went completely silent on the deal is what I've been told.

Would be a very good signing. Past his best but so much better than what we have got.

Won't happen though as they won't pay his wages. Would imagine he'll be on about 40,000 a week.

To be fair, Woodgate, Reo Coker, McFadden, Hargreaves are all on surplus list and would be excellent signings albeit it slightly risky with injuries but no chance as board don't want to pay....

    Shocking really

Would be such a good signing, but I would prefer Bothroyd
      Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
      And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

Carew was seen in Chiswick area last week. Probably means not a lot, who knows?

If he bothers to stay at a club for more than 6 months or so I give him the benefit of the doubt.
If he wants to play for Norway he has to change his attitude big time. In the norwegian media our national coach Egil Olsen is regularly questioning his overall passion for fotball .

His back is also a problem. His first touch as well.
But if Warnock wants him,I´d say yes. If any, he can get him back on track again. Make him chase for the ball, simply as that, lol.

              i think

i think up to about two seasons ago carew was brilliant but hes well past his sell by date now,i think we would be better of playing shania up front than john carew, hes a typical flavio briatore target

far too old,a complete embarrassment,a bit like brentford actually

I think we all need to be a little realistic. We won't break our 25k wage limit. A player like him wouldn't come 4 less than 40k and would be looking at 1 last big pay off. My main concern is what I think could happen. Paddy kenny could be sold and imo if we lose adel and kenny then we r writing off this season and the owners r pocketing the sky tv money. Very worrying time. I'd love 2 see some quality additions but we must make sure we hold onto the few we actually know r premiership quality. I feel 4 anyone that has parted with there money because I think we all now realise next season could be a complete shambles and no one want to see there team being non competitive
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I´m not so sure money is the real issue for Carew. His commitment to fotball on this level is more questionable really. My sentiments only...but anyway.

It's not a case of realism, its more the fact that Warnock thought he would have been a realistic target at the time only to have been ****ed over on funds.

Never really rated Carew myself. He's okay but i would not rely on him to get the goals we need to stay up.Would rather have Campbell.

As Shania says, seems lazy and uninterested.

the stumbling block and silence is because we won't pay him more than 30,000, probably won't give him more than a year's contract, too.
