Controversial I know. David Bardsley. Poseur of the highest order. Always did the same thing when he got the ball and was very predictable. Used to give him loads of stick from SAR!!!

bircham and gallen..only rated so highly because of them being rs fans. granted gallen was decent until injured but nothing special afterwards.bircham i have no idea what people saw in him. bottled out of tackles,couldnt head it or pass it?????????? stumped.. blue and white hair goes a long way at loftus road

Spot on mate. Although i think Birch worked hard and always gave 110%, he really did lack quality! and Gallen post-injury was absolute pony! as you say, its only because they were fans they were so loved.

If Gallen were just any old bloke we had signed and had no history with qpr he would have been slated!

think your unfair , i liked bardsley, i thought was decent player (though i was youg at time) as for bircham he was great cos he was one of us and we could all relate to him , yep not the best but 100% every game and ill take that all day long

Whilst languishing in 2nd and 3rd tiers of the league we'd hardly be likely to have top-notch players would we? Don't think anyone would say Birch was anything that special but at the time and in the context of the squad he was a decent and loyal servant of the club.
I can't actually think of any over-rated players we've had - in my view we seem to get the measure of our players pretty consistently and quickly. Sure we've had some lemons, misfits and mercenaries but I genuinely can't think of anyone who was over-rated.

I was at the game and yes, brilliant there. But i mean over the course of his 6 years or so in his 2nd spell, he was poor more than good id say.

Dont get me wrong, a legend and he gave his all which is all we can ask. Same as with Birch, think theyre both blinding and I wouldnthave changed them at all, but Im simply answering the thread question about who is most OVER rated thats all.

What did you expect him to do....juggle bowling pins on a unicycle !!!

Always supported the man in front , could get to the by line and cross a ball, made life difficult for his opponent and had a belter of a shot to boot !!

Name a better right back that we've had at the club in the last 25 years or so ???

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is so far off the mark, I wonder if you were sober at any of the matches you saw him play.
His crosses from deep and his overlapping wing play, coupled with a good turn of speed and great tackling ability make him one of, if not the, best RB we've ever had.

I have to disagree 100%. I loved David Bardsley for his consistency and foul free tackling and was seriously underated as a player for QPR and England. He did lack pace and attacking prowess but was an around talent and QPR man... TBH i'd love to have him back at the club in some capacity such as head of youth development.... maybe one day!

Kevin Gallen scored nearly 100 goals for us. Not bad for someone who overcame such a bad injury and was "never the same player".

Probably would have reached that landmark 100th goal had he not been switched to a deeper position in his latter playing days where he was used as a link-up/hold up player.
