Everything is front loaded to the first team squad with the Academy lads on small sums but big bonuses for breaking in the first team. Until 18 months ago, Jack Wilshere was on around £12k a week. Again, no way Bothroyd would have been on £20k as a 2nd year pro at Highbury at the point he left. No idea what Coventry and Charlton paid him but again, would not have gone over £25k a week. Outside the top 6 or 7 clubs, salaries are nowhere near as high as some believe - bigger signing on fees tend to be paid to lesser the ongoing residual salary costs (few exceptions, Bolton with Djorkaeff, Okocha and Hierro; Wigan with Heskey, West Ham when they went completely loopy loo with the Icelandic banks money - Pompey the same). Charlton and Coventry would not be big payers.

Massive pinch of salt req'd IMO. Bothroyd still talking with us so we can't be that bad!

Spot on, first or second year pro's don't earn as much as most people think. where the boys do earn a lump sum is the signing on fee the clubs give them for there first pro deal, i can tell you of second year pro's at prem league clubs on £2,400 a month!

fk me lisa snowden she dated mr clooney, i met her she is a sort!! jay bargaining poistion is that whoever signs him have saved themselves 5 mil in a transfer fee he is going to try and get as mch of that as poss, he will not come for 25k unless we offer a big signing on fee
