  • Regarding Transfer budget....

We are actually not that far away from a decent side possibly three or four players so I am not that fussed about it.

Sure it would be nice to go out and spend money on quality a Beckford for example but on a budget it's still very possible to get some good players in.

HH is a step in the right direction I dont know why anyone is so surprised given last year we spent a whoping 250k on Gorks and he turned out to be quality.

Flavio has said time and time again ...it will be done on a tight budget a man of his word.

Three or four players is a third of our team, so quite far from a decent team really. Especially if we want promotion. HH is 34/35, a little too old me thinks. We should be investing in players for the future, otherwise he will need replacing next season.

No we could go back to how we were quite easily, going bust not owning the ground and having to sell all of our best players.

Of course the price rises we quite alot of money but I do think some times people need to put things in perspective

im with you funky, when i look at most teams compared to us in our league i just feel 3 strikers would make us that team. thirty goals between those three and we will be very close! i just wonder what happens if we do start well? what will all the whingers on this board have to complain about?

And so starts the campaign to manage the fans expectations.
QBP 20th August 2009..."To be fair, I'm glad we are top of the table (for agents fees). Shows we are not a selling club anymore."

So the fact we were in financial trouble( a little club called liverpool are as well) gives our new owners the right to **** on us from their penthouse in the sky???

My expectations have definitely gone down for this season. Last season, honestly believed we were contenders, this season coming I'd be absolutely delighted with a top 6 spot. The fact Jim said our team is better than 11th is right, but next season suspect championship will be stronger.

Every close season for as long as i can remember, we have the same debate about only being 3, 4 or so players away from being a decent side.

So, why now, with all the hype and the media circus which FB and glamour lot have brought with them not to mention the "We are not doing this to be famous, we are already famous" self praise, are we STILL in a situation where we need to have the same debate?

                          Lets keep blackstock

it looks like we will spend very little again this summer, with probably a couple of loan signing and players coming in who are out of contract, with that in mind and bearing in mind our goal scoring problem should we not just keep dex, instead of trying to replace him with someone not nearly as good.Sousa did all lot of damage to his confidence, but maybe Magilton will get this back,IF ALLOWED.I say KEEP BLACKSTOCK and with Vine,Pat and Helguson we might be ok.:amazing:

im not sure why but im more confident about this season than last. i reckon we will be shocked by jim and will prove to be a good appointment. also think if we get vine and buzz back to full fitness for most of the season we are probably 7-10 points better than last. I do think the owners need to purchase two quality strikers though!

                              No it's about personal opinon.

                              My personal opinion thats all.

We lost three of our best players last year in Rowlands Vine and Buzz...they all will have a full pre season behind them.

Wth one or two sensible additions on top of a pretty sound defence I think we could go close.

I'm notr mad on the Magilton appointment I dont think anyone is but now he is here I want him to do well and of course he will get my support
and I think the vast majority of fans wil now get behind the appointment.

I'd love to see us go out and spend big but there are signs that we have learnt from our mistakes and I for one am delighted that we never gave Adebola a two year deal.

Anyway looking forward to next season...what else ami going to do on a Saturday after all
