Let's think about it. It is an adminstrative mistake rather than breaking key football rules like playing an unregistered player in the starting II or playing a banned player. Don't thing there will be deductions.

The 3 pts deduction is also what I've been told by an impeccable source BUT must be emphasised that they have yet to hear Rangers statements. Would realistically to come away with a 1 pt deduction if we give a good account. FA want it sorted back end of this week

Well this source is very close to the panel that will make the decision Nodge, so I trust what I have heard.

You give good examples and in each case the punishment does not fit the crime.

I think in our case the punishment won't fit the crime either, because it will be a 'message' to everyone else. That said, I can't see a points deduction.

Not wanting to get into a debate about the three points you have raised above as they are not football related - but if there isn't a point, then whats the point ?.

My point is , if you are going to punish someone and for arguement sakes, lets keep it to football,make the punishment one that would hopefully stop the same thing happening again in the future.Where have they plucked the 3 point figure from?

We have farked up on some paper work, no more no less. The sticky paw prints of Paladini are all over it too therefore the FA are looking into it further than they probably would.

If 3 points is the punishment for our crime then 3 points it is.. You cant just say ok lets make this worthwhile and make it 10 points even though it only warrants a smaller penalty!!

I would argue that the very fact we have a 10 point lead will make it very easy for the FA to levy a 3 point deduction and look like they have acted with an iron fist without denting our promotion bid significantly.

I doubt they'd be thinking along such gung ho lines if we only had a 2 point lead or were in the midst of the play off pack.

Jeffro - just seems a strange amount of points to be deducted.A set fine to discourage clubs from doing this in the future i can understand - all i asked was...3 points 6 points 10points.....How do you decided whats warranted as a fair punishment?....I was only asking not really that bothered ...

Exactly - so no real guidlines, however - if we failed to make promotion by 3 points........
