  • ***Breaking news***Punishment Update.....

I cannot reveal source, but through a friend within FA committee, have been reliably informed the following will happen this Thursday:

    3 point deduction
    £15,000 fine

This guy also knew the whole Faurlin saga was happening before we were told.

3 points sounds way off if i'm being honest Jeffro mate.

He also played 2 games in that period so 4 points would of made some sense.

I also agree with Pete as I can't see this being that quick, its going to take some time yet unfortunately.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

The 3 pts deduction is also what I've been told by an impeccable source BUT must be emphasised that they have yet to hear Rangers statements. Would realistically to come away with a 1 pt deduction if we give a good account. FA want it sorted back end of this week

That fine needs another zero though.

I think the fine should fall on GP's shoulders although I expect others will help bail him out.

To be fair if that statement is coming from both Jeffro and now nodge, 2 respected posters then I would like to distance myself to Pete's views.

I thought it would take weeks surely we will get a chance to present our defence.

Even if found guilty this week we have right of appeal which could drag on and on.

My understanding is that the points deduction is the current FA thinking given their charges. However, again, must be emphasised, they HAVE NOT seen our statements as yet.

It still could well be that a large-ish fine will be a happy medium. This would obviously avoid any nastiness spilling into the end of the season/play off dates.

I would suspect it will be down to how the FA feel on the day.

Do they want to be seen to be strong and the upholders of all that is good and get a few media monkeys off their back? If so - points deduction.

Do they want to avoid any potential costly and embarrassing ongoing litigation and issue a more prosaic judgement BUT be left open to accusations of weakness? If so - fine.

The FA are hugely influenced by media sources. It's like pishing in the wind trying to second guess them.

No disrespect to any posters, but

As much as I want to believe current likelyhood for minimal or no points deduction and 5 or low 6 figure fines, allegedly coming from un-named sources close to QPR or FA or whoever.

They are just speculation, gossip, hearsay at best personal opinions, not based on any official line.

Surely if FA give 14 Days for a club to respond to charges before them (starting less than a week ago), they would have to wait 2 weeks AT LEAST before any hearing can happen, even if we responded almost immediately (last week). Presumably we could change our minds in the rest of that 2 weeks.

Problem is despite precedents (to varying degrees) there's no consistancy -
WHU (Tevez/Macherano) £5.5m fine, no points deducted.
Luton (56 charges, 3 players) 10 points deducted
Chelsea (dodgy deelings) 3 Transfer Window bans, successfully appealed
                            Swindon - Refused Promotion
Leeds & Bristol City - slap on wrist & £30k fine.

My worry is FA decide to set a real precedent with us.

Let's think about it. It is an adminstrative mistake rather than breaking key football rules like playing an unregistered player in the starting II or playing a banned player. Don't thing there will be deductions.
