Back in the day, there was a football magazine called Match Weekly (Not sure if still around?) Some Derby supporting kid slagged off The Doc and Qpr in the letters page. I wrote a response defending him and got the £10 Star letter. A year later, I wrote another Qpr related Star letter and won a football.

Nothing's changed. I'm still writing for peanuts. In retrospect, those were bloody good wages for a 14 year old.

I think I read that magazine myself, RussRanger. Not many girls did I presume, but anyway I did.
Those were the days when £10 were good wages,lol.
Regarding Hill, I dont think he even get a mention across the various forums these days.
But that´s life. He did his knee in 78 when he played against Leicester in a cup-tie I believe, hence he was not a star when he played for us .But anyway as a young player in Millwall his nickname was "Merlin".

Yep, saw about 3 Gordon Hill games - so pretty much most of his QPR career. Shame about his injuries because he was always pretty decent at Manure.

from day 1 its in the genes - pop was brought up in Chiswick and watched QPR as a kid, even though he was on Brentford's books on schoolboy terms QPR genes passed onto me and subsequently me to my lad.

My old man and grandad QPR before me so soon as I was born. Got a QPR teddy on my born date, and still have it now 27 years on!!! My old man took me to my first game in 89, I was 5 and I remember at the front of the loft I had to stand on this bit of wood my dad made so I can see. We went to every game throughout the 90's, but from 2001ish its been tough due to playing myself. looking forward to stoping playing and doing what my dad and I done, with my son in the future.

I've never known or wanted any other team but R's. Been taken since before I can remember so no "start date". I do remember the first time they made me cry and broke my heart and oddly it was a Leicester game. Quarter final of the cup in 74. I was only 9 so I am allowed.

My first contact with QPR was at the age of 2 when having bought an ice cream from the Tony's of Acton van, walked in front of the van looked both ways to cross the road to me house (we were street wise in them days even at the age of 2). The ice cream van run me over ! I went under the van and had the side of my face ripped open and had my little hand crushed by the wheel. Yes i was lucky. When me dad carried me indoors the first people on the scene was the QPR medical team. Took ages for the ambulance to come in them days. Since that day I have been well looked after by QPR and have worked as a tray boy and in the bars for yonks. QPR well my club.
