di carmine gets kicked, elbowed and pushed all over the place and holds the ball up for the midfield, something that no other striker at the club can do.

if dexter or any other player got an elbow they would be on the floor crying for the ref, he gets on with it and takes it. playing up front by yourself is the hardest thing to do and at the minute he is doing it well, yes he hasnt scored too many, but who has for us?

he's 20 and this is his first season in english football and the first season for him to be a regular first teamer, he should have scored 30 goals by now. :tired:

exactly this is dicarmines first season in english football. Very good point. Why should we be taking gambles on unproven players like him, alberti, parejo, ledesma when we are suppose to be pushing for promotion. Surely you would aim for proven players in this league or from the prem?

too see if any young talent from the continent will work in the championship.

imo, alberti and di carmine have proven they can play in the championship and have potential to go further

hardly any young talent from the continent works in the championship though at first they take time to adjust, time we havent really got at the prices tickets are.

Why wouldnt young talent from the continent work in the Championship ??
Parejo didnt work, granted, but thats hardly representative of anything apart from him in particular is it ??
Personally I'd love to see Sousa bring in a couple of 19 year old full backs from Portugal, whether it happens or not is another thing entirely.

Di Carmine has some great qualities, but needs to develop other qualities. He's a good player in the making - one for the future.

But we need players who can do the business now.
                        Be nice to Minty

I'm sorry, but that is puerile & juvenile nonsense.
Are you saying that there arent kids playing in Portugal that Sousa could get that wouldnt succeed in the Championship ?? Absolute nonsense mate, what are you basing that philosophy on ??
Our policy this season to have a few young lads from abroad in on loan hasnt been a success, but it hasnt been a failure.
The Championship isnt the Shangri La mate, of course players from abroad can play in The Championship, I'd love to see Sousa bring us in on loan a couple of young prospects from Portugal instead of overspending on some Championship level English "Huffer & Puffer"
Where is your football romanticism son ??! QPR in its heydey was known for playing flowing "Continental" style football akin to the way Arsenal play today, why just win when you can win in style ??!

We've tried a few things this year: Parejo looked disinterested but is now on Real's bench, Ledesma burned brightly for a while but now can't get a game in a relegation threatened Serie B team. Tommassi had a couple of good games, but his legs were gone.

Alberti was injured for a while and is now improving.

Di Carmine divides opinion. I think he suits Sousa's system better than anyone else we have. He's not scared to shoot, though most of his efforts have been blocked. If he stays, I think he'll be better next year as he has a year's experience here.

DiCarbuncle might be a good prospect but we can't afford another season when our first choice striker has two goals to his name. I don't see why there even needs to be a discussion about it, surely its obvious?
