Ive been one of the so called 'Positive Brigade' this season, mainly because never in my wildest dreams did i think we'd be in this position at this stage of the season. But facts are facts, we are not producing the kind of performances that got us off to a flyer at the beginning of the season and our lack of goals ( and creating chances for that matter) is becomming apparent.
Ok we are a solid unit, a top drawer keeper with a decent enough back 4 superbly marshalled by my POTY Derry but we then have Faullin who i dont care what anyone says is not consistent enough to be worshipped like he is by a lot on here. On his good days he is excellent but he goes missing far too much for me. We then rely too much on Tarrabt and teams now know that if you shut him off we lack ideas.
I'd still rather be in our position than any other side but as the run in approaches im beginning to doubt our chances as each game passes, maybe its because i've been let down too many times in my lifetime of supporting this great club, maybe its because we just dont look ruthless enough to be an automtic promotion team.
All i know is i just cant enjoy this latter part of the season, the nerves are unbearable every game, whether im there or not.

IMHO they haven't been playing 'out of their skin'. They've been playing well, yet within their abilities and as would be expected in a 4-2-3-1, and the team spirit that Neil has engendered within the squad.

What irritates me is that some of the negative posters never seem to post anything positive ever! They seem to take such pleasure when we struggle. Where were you all after reading away? I thought forest and cardiff were goung to get 3 points each mid-week....but no silence. I think that some do have a point, we should be winning these games and with 10 men we should have beaten forest and yes we've not been playing well for a while now but when the same posters post the same drivel and seem to take such pleasure in it, is it any wonder that people get wound up?

LOL
Big dave I totally agree was beginning to think there was something mentally wrong with me.
I think we as long suffering QPR fans wont promotion a little bit to badly to injoy it.

think youll find i was laughed at when i said over and over and over that we would be promoted automatic this season at the start.
ive always believed it, but anyone saying things are going well is in cloud cuckoo land, cos they aint going as good as they were or could be.
if thats whinging, then im whinging and im fu cking good at it.

There's being negative/positive, and then there's being realistic.
At this point, there's not really a right or wrong answer.
Those who maintain that we aren't slipping and don't need to worry are right in a way, because if you look back over the last few games, the gap between us and the chasing pack has remained pretty much the same.
Those who claim that we need to score more goals, perhaps by changing system, especially away from home, also have a point. However, don't forget that we have the best away record in the league, and only two teams have actually won more than us on the road.
As long as we keep doing what we're doing and have consistently done through the season, ie accumulating points, winning our home games and getting what we can on the road, we should get promotion.
Then there's the issue of Taarabt. Possibly the most frustratingly brilliant player I've ever seen in the hoops.
With the way we're set up away from home, it would be a serious option to maybe start with Buzz and bring him on later in the game. However, he is an integral part of the way we play, and as it's been effective so far, why change now?
Additionally, he almost always looks our biggest threat, even when he's not having a particularly good game.
The weight of expectation from the fans is so large at the moment, and the players have done well to seemingly not let it get to them so far.
With the amount we're paying, it's only fair that we expect good performances, which is exactly what the team have produced on a consistent basis so far this season.
However, it's important, now more than ever, to really get behind the lads and support them.
It doesn't matter if you hate Hulse, if he comes onto the pitch, support him.
Same goes for Fitz Hall. Certain sections still groan/boo when he comes on. How many goals has he actually been responsible for us conceding this season?
At the end of the day, it all depends on your outlook on football, and even life in general.
I'm loving it this season, really enjoying going to games and being able to watch talent such as Taarabt and Faurlin blended well with the steel of Derry and Hill.
This is only the 2nd season in my time supporting us that we actually look like we could win the league and it makes a refreshing change from having to worry about relegation, or having nothing to play for.
Some will have the same outlook as me, others will see it completely differently.
What's paramount now is that all fans get behind the whole team from now to the end of the season.
