Fair enough I can accept I was wrong by the weight of opinion - Its difficult trying to watch games on live feeds that are continually stop start, freeze frame, jump, disappear altogether and have adverts wrapped all over them at ridiculous hours of the night. If there was a sign of how far we've come it's this post! How anyone can be complaining about Tommy Smith when two years ago we had a team that included Bob Malcolm is beyond me! Smith is quality player at this level, I think some idiots just expect every player in our side to be like Taarabt.

You will have gathered that Tommy boy is (a bit like Faurlin & Derry) an unsung hero and will be one of the first names on Neils teamsheet (although he may need longer studs next week as he was going to ground very easily yesterday!) but for me he is one of the reasons we WILL go up!

I actually think you have raised a fair point and I'm really surprised by this Tommy Smith love in. Smiths a tidy player but he is far from spectacular and can go missing in matches. He's not a bad player but he is not that brilliant either and if I had to choose 2 from Smith, Mackie & Routledge then the later 2 would win hands down.
