To be fair, he hasn't really performed for a couple of months, and is living off the first 7/8games.

He's lucky he works hard and we have no-one better or he would be out of the team.

Yeah great post Morris that is what I was trying to get at and may of sounded hard.

I love his work rate but I am questioning his ability.

Missed 4 home games this season to the poster who asked but certainly seen enough to judge him.

if we had someone better, i'd expect them to play, and that goes for everyone!

Mackie is never going to set the world alight, but he is not a poor player, he's not a headless chicken, he's not a liability and he's not a passenger.

in terms of our squad, there's certainly no reason to be worried about Mackie, his position or his performances - there are other areas that need addressing way before we look to/need to improve on Mackie...

Mackie played really well today, as opposed to clint, orr and hulse. His strength to fend off players was right on the mark, however his finishing lacked slightly.

Its players such as Mackie that let Taarabt shine. Yes he might not be the best ability wise but had we had someone like Routledge in his position our midfield would get so overrun. He really allows Taarabt to have the space he needs to work his magic.

singling out the second highest scorer is just victimisation, the last two games have been the exact replica of qpr of last season (and the season before, and the season before, and the season before)
by that i mean, losing away cos no-one turned up and then throw away a win at home to a dog turd of a team.

I thought Mackie played well today.

I thought the team played well today... just 2 stupid poxy mistakes at the back cost us the points we deserved.

I think we played better today than we did when we beat teams 3 and 4-0 earlier in the season.

I agree Hulse is not a goalscorer, and we need one.
