As the Panorama program examined, including the Swiss MP they interviewed - where wholesale corruption is involved, thats when politicians and governements could get involved.

Perhaps therein lies the answer to your question...

The whole process reeks of corruption.Blatter and his cronies had decided months ago and just milked all the hospitality and attention knowing full well that England never stood a chance. The way I feel at the moment,England along with USA,Australia,Spain and Portugal and any other country that wants to join us,should WITHDRAW FORTHWITH from the 2018 World Cup to expose FIFA for what they are.Enough withdrawals may prompt an official enquiry and a more deserving nation being being awarded the hosting of the WC.Otherwise this farce will continue when most of us and our kids are pushing up the daisies.

Great footballing nations treated like rubbish, (not including Aus or usa as great footballing nations although one day they may well be so) most of the fifa delegates couldn't even be bothered to open our presentation, it has cost this country 15mill to try and convince those #####s, we should at least demand compensation.

how many grass root football teams would have benefited if we had'nt wasted all that money on a futile bid, my local side Lyme Regis have busted a gut for 2 years to raise £40,000 to upgrade the dressing rooms, FIFA, rotton to the core

If we'd known that FIFA were looking for an arctic wasteland with a useless transport system and institutional racism, we could have put in a joint bid with Scotland.
