We really could do with a decent centre half.

Saturday showed why.

Im just not sure on Matt Connelly.
He was getting run all over the place by the Derby sub (cyzica??)
Seem to have a little of everything but not excel in anything.

Isnt quite strong enough to deal with BIG CF's
Isnt quick enough to deal with nippy forwards
Isnt good enough to win enough headers

We needed to replace Damion Stewart with a better version of himself.
For all his faults, Stewart was Quick and bailed us out many times with his pace, he was by far away the best header of a ball.
He won his personal battles strength wise, most games

and also was good for 5+ goals a season.

Not by any means saying we should have kept him but Connelly is not the answer Im afraid.

Never thought Id say this but its definately a close call between Conners and Fitz who I would start.

Hall is NWs choice so would go with him. Connolly on bench provides cover at CB and full back.
I think the problem is trying to find room for Buz in the team. Maybe it's just a matter of rotating the 3 (faurlin, buzz and derry)? For me, he's too good a player to be on the bench.
Absolutely delighted with squad though!!

I thought Ramage was excellent at centre half for the last few games of last season. I'd like to see him given a chance again alongside Gorkss.

i dont know any names mate.
i just know everything i have said so far has come true about the board backing warnock and about players coming in, and i also know that warnock is the best reader of the game in this division.
so if we can see we could do with a centre back, than he can see it clearly as well.
he has been given EVERYTHING he has asked for and been promised since he got here, because he is being quietly backed to the hilt by the board to take us into the premiership
So he will sign two more players, one centre back and another forward,and both will be from a premiership club. (on loan with the option to buy)

Yes, We lack REAL pace in our CB`s.

Ramage and Gorkks are too similar IMO. One can replace the other. Both together means no pace and a turning circle and recovery time of an oil tanker. You need their dominant power in the air but also need the pace and technique that Hall and Connolly provide.

When did Hall and Connelly get pace??
Neither are quick which is the problem we have.
Both ok on the ball but neither as quick as Stewart.

good point but derby didn't open us up once did they and we were crap!
Firt goal Orr should have cleared, 2nd goal we had chance to clear and lad hit a good shot think kenny would have saved if he wasn't unsighted, we haven't played anyone decent but no one has given us the run around

i got a feeling woodgate might come here to get himself together when he doesnt make the 25 today. so many options to go for when you are top.
even owen hargreaves is going to need to play somewhere when hes fit and cant get a game.
