Apologies to Sir Pie for interfering with his domain.

Prompted by the info given on the official site that he has scored 5 goals for Iceland from a total of 37 appearances ( average 7.4 games per goal ), thought I'd check out his league stats as many seem to think that he only scores for Watford.

Below is his record based on number of starts, goals and average goal ratio :

QPR 20 (8) 2.5

Bolton 3 (2) 1.5

Fulham 31 (11) 2.8

Watford 121 (52) 2.3

Pretty consistent wherever he's been in my view. Apart from his Agyemang-like spree at Bolton.

Currently he has scored (albeit) from the penalty spot one of the seven goals the team has scored. If he were to continue that ratio and we were to score as many as Blackpool did last season (69) then he'd scored 10 for the season.

Last season Bednar scored 11 whilst Simon Cox contributed with just 9 for WBA and Brett Omerod scored 12 for Blackpool. Although Carroll (17) scored a lot more for Newcastle than these other players mentioned a striker doesn't neccesarily have to score much more than 10 for his side to get promoted as long as he brings something else to the side. In Helguson's case he'll hold up play and provide assists but like WBA and Blackpool we will need one of the other players to contribute with a number of goals from midfield. Early days but two games in and both Mackie and Taraabt have scored 2 a piece so what to say that they won't do what Charlie Adam, Kevin Nolan or Chris Brunt did from midfield?

he's played well in both the opening games, creating chances, scoring a goal, and being a strong centre forward that he is..

He will score 12 + goals at least..

His stats at QPR are pretty good to be fair..

Proved he could still score last season got 10 at Watford,would be on 3 now if he had stood up to Taarabt.maybe not the answer but could still prove very useful to have (also has won 2 pens)

He's played well in both games this season, has a lot more to his game than scoring the odd goal here and there.

Tony German will do well to watch him and learn, how to hold up the ball and play the attacking midfielders in.
