Never Thought I Would Say This

We will miss Fitz Hall, who has been solid for the first 2 games this season. This idea that Peter Ramage is a better centre back is way off the mark, based on what people write and not what they see.

Ramage is a good enough right back, but I'd have Hall anyday of the week ahead of him in the centre back position.

Pete you must watch different games to most of us.
How can you say Ramage is a decent right back but Not as good as Hall at Centre back..

Ramage is a poor right back, as he is to big and not mobile enough, though at centre half, Ramage is very good at attacking the ball, reading the game and timing his tackles.

Not to fussed if Hall is out as Rambo is more than capable of replacing him at centre back

I'm a bit surprised we let Stewart go before finding a replacement. We all know how injury prone Hall is,averaging around 5 games before he's crocked again. Also causes confusion over the captaincy selection.

Think it's got to be Gorkks/Connoly CB pairing!

Ramage played centre back for us, near the end of the season when games were of little consequence. Hall on the other hand played in achampionship winning side and its a no brainer that Hall is a better centre back than Ramage.

I like Ramage and he is the nicest player in all our squad, its not about that its about who is the better player. That clearly is Fitz Hall.

I can't be alone in those thoughts, as Warnock has made him club captain.

PS - forgot about Connelly, whats his best position? and don't say left back in the changing room,I've always thought of him as a class player. Then again he's had his fair share of injuries and illnesses I suppose.

Connolly is forth choice centre half, Saturdays substitution proved that

I agree and disagree with Pete.

Ramage is a much better centre back than he is right back.

We have improved as a team because we have Orr who is a natural right back who is one of the top 5 rb's in this league. He is great and getting forward and more importantly his delivery is superb. I hope we have learn't a lesson with playing centre halves at left/right back. I need to see Clint Hill, I am pleased he has looked good but I think he will struggle against pace.

Regarding Hall he is a very decent centre back.
Fans judge on whether he is a nice bloke or not.
He will be missed and I am looking forward to him getting fit again.
His injurys are a concern but without him we lack some pace.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

Fans judge him on his ability to play football, the fact that he is a ####a makes us dislike him even more.

Hill has looked a solid left back, but it was a blatant penalty Saturday.

i have tried to like Hall, but I personally dont think he will be missed. Fair enough, we have kept 2 clean sheets, but we have rode a bit of luck at the back and when put under pressure, Hall still looks dodgy. Hes done ok so far, and we cant complain - 7 goals in 2 league games and 2 clean sheets, but I think we can definately do better than Hall. Ramage will win more in the air, and clear his line better imo - but whoever plays for us, I want them to do well

Assuming that was a typo and he meant to say "fans WON'T judge him on whether he is a nice bloke or not"

                            Connolly?

Possibly the best player bar none in the squad?

He played in 7 of the 46 matches. He was hardly the reason they were a winning side. He was unavailble for 10 of the 17 matches he was at Newcastle and he played in the full 90 mins for Newcastle when they lost 3-0 to Derby. He was only in a winning Newcastle side three times. The drew three and lost the game against Derby.
