And you say Ramage, Legs capable of playing there? I take it you havent seen Ramage play there then? And you must of missed the games Legs played there because as soon as he comes up against a nippy winger we are in big trouble.
We need Orr, simple as that.

Money is better spent on a forward and seeing as we are in the habit of not spending it why waste it on a RB when it can be put towards a forward. Off course, I have never seen Ramage, Legs or Connolly play RB how stupid of me to suggest they can do a job there!!!
Oh and seeing as your so worried about nippy wingers going at our Full Backs I'd be slightly more concerned about Clint Hill at LB because compared to Legs he is effectively a slug.
If we failed to bring in a decent striker outright and not on loan then Orr is effectively a luxury signing, first signing we should have made this summer was a marque signing up front instead here we are a week to the big KO no striker and quibbling about an average Championship defender.Last edited by W12_Ranger; 29-07-2010, 08:54 AM.

The rumour re " Silvan Ebanks at Nat West"...Strikers are hard to come by and strikers like Silvan, would probably be just as happy to stay at Wolves in the premiership than to actually drop a Div and play regular football at a lower standard...and maybe at lower wages....
Season after season, clubs chasing strikers in the Championship, the same old names appear. Hulse Stead Henderson Adebola etc etc....are there any new names out there woth a punt.
You could argue we were slow last season when chasing Hooper, who has now gone to Celtic.People were muting the idea about Simeon Jackson from Gillingham, but only Norwich took the plunge.Their fans seem pretty happy but ours were happy we didn.t sign him.
Actually...im waffling now

With regards to signing Orr yes its good to have a proper FB but its certainly not a priority when you consider we have just signed a slow ageing centre half to play LB.

I also dfo not see the benefit in bringing in a crocked Henderson, it just smacks of the same old same old to me.

The Kenny transfer i totally agree with, but it has been apparent for a few season now, we need a striker,of a decent quality. It would have been my main priority.
That said, looking at our team from last season...left and right backs were areas we need to address. So in fairness, if we do sign a decent right back, i can see why fans are getting excited. In fact - if we sign anyone half decent....fans get excited
Goalscorers are a hard commodity to find.To be honest, i'm baffled we haven't put an offer in for Simpson( or maybe with have)It would be a good starting point...

Many people will call that a very negative approach to football.
Last season, if we conceded, you always wondered where our goals were going to come from, so you can be as tight as you want at the back, but without goals....you win nothing.
Also - teams should defend from the front backwards.Midfielders are vital now in knowing their defensive roles.
I do apologise for waffling today....got home late from pub and still really feel rather light headed...

To me it looks like we have a very limited budget again, I'd be very surprised to see us making outlays of any significant proportion on strikers now. Thus what funds have been made available I'd have blown on an out an out goalscorer as they cost the most, then there is the fans questioning the same thing constantly for 3 years, its getting tedious.
