maybe warock has rested the taarbat issue and is now focused on bringing another marquee signing to us... my first reaction was like no way as 2.5 mill is alot of money and it was being reported walters was a striker.......
He is not a striker but a very good midfielder, someone I think all rangers fans would all end up loving..........
The frustration with this link which i think it will be for all rangers fans is if it has any substance, then why are we prepared to pay 2.5 mill for a midfielder and still no signs of a striker....

Jonathan Roland "Jon" Walters (born 20 September 1983 in Birkenhead, England) is an English-born Irish footballer. He currently plays for and captains English Championship side Ipswich Town and can play as either a as a striker or a right winger

he aint a midfielder i dont think mate, it says hes a striker or right winger, if we are buying him as a winger and instead of mcanuff and are still gonna get a big target man, then thats blinding, but i really dont like them can be a 'striker or a winger' style players if they are chosen and played as your main goalscorer.

I work with an Ipswich ST holder and he described Walters as a wide man (I'm guessing he wasn't talking about him physically) and that he plays the same role that Tommy Smith used to play for Watford.

He isn't a big man and I would still expect us to sign either Walters or McAnuff to play on the right with Mackie on the left and a big man through the middle - Hulse, Stead or Henderson.

Not worth 2.5m! Good player and for those who don't no who he is, he's the one that scored the last of Ipswich's 3 goals when they beat us 3-1 at home a couple of years ago. Good goal. 1.5m at the very most! Still can't see us signing anyone with that sort of transfer fee though. Think we should just concentrate on getting that 20 goal a season man on board first! Wot about vassell to play wide and link with the front men? Free transfer and he's rapid from wot I can recall.

He was quick but his legs have gone and he'd demand even more money than £2.5m we'd have to pay Ipswich.

                    Rangers target Walters
                    Warnock keen on Town striker

                    ...
                    Walters: QPR target

..Skysports.com understands Queens Park Rangers are chasing Ipswich ace Jon Walters.

Walters has impressed at Ipswich over the last few seasons and was the club's top scorer last season in a disappointing campaign for the club.

Stoke have been credited with an interest in the former Bolton man in the past as Ipswich fight to keep hold of the 26-year-old.

QPR are now keen on signing Walters and are believed to have made an enquiry to their Championship rivals for the forward.

Rangers boss Neil Warnock is a big admirer of Walters and sees him as a key addition to his squad as he looks to build a side capable of challenging for promotion at Road.
