Well my four grandparents are each individually 100% Welsh, English, Italian and Flemish, so i have plenty of disparate blood lines in me, although i consider myself BRITISH. at least, that's what my passport says.

Murray has never worn a Paraguay shirt, and the anti-english comments were taken completely out of context from a jovial interview with Des Kelly and Tim Henman about Scotland not being in the 2006 World Cup, and the comments were lifted and ran with as fact.

i have no problem with Andy Murray, Chris Hoy, Colin Jackson, Liz McColgan, Iwan Thomas, or anyone else from Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland operating under the Union Jack...

He was also interviewed on Soccer AM several years ago where he reiterated what he had ACTUALLY said, which was not anti-english and how the press had elaborated the story for the benefit of selling papers to thick gullible people [my words not his]

The scottish do not like the english though, and watching england play in a scottish pub is an experience, but unlike them, I would like to see them do well.

When the now younger generation become the working generation you guys are going to hate it.

Everyone calls themselves British, and when I refused to concur that I was British I was accused of being a racist.

Apparently having pride in your country means you're a nazi. The St George's cross will slowly die out and be replaced by the Union flag, which will inevitably be replaced by the EU flag and then there will be no sporting or patriotic competition, as we will will be a worldwide society.

                  It's called damage limitation.

Gordon brown did not mean what he said to that little old lady up north did he.................... But he stil said it didn't he.

                      whats called damage limitation?

people on here have some pathological hatred of the man based on no factual basis!, hell qprjames hates him for wearing a shirt that he never even wore!

and i don't quite see the gordon brown reference- brown said something silly (albeit accurate) and got caught on the microphone, murray said something in jest and it was taken completely out of context, and treated as fact...

First you say he did not say it now you say it was in jest and taken out of context heres how i see it, he meant what he said and the jest thing was damage limitation by his people as he was young and stupid.

feel free to peruse what i've said on this thread, nowhere did i say he didn't say it, i've posted three times, and in each one i've said it was either taken out of context or misquoted.

I assume that you know the full background behind the comments, and read the inverviews with Andy Murray, Des Kelly who interviewed him and Tim Henman who essentially incited the "Anyone but England" joke, right?

Nope Alan Brazil said what happened happened and we should all move on so that's good enough for me. I don't give a toss, I just hate being told I have to get behind him.
