There isn't anything wrong with lower league players if they can do the job. I guess I wonder if he was that good wouldn't someone had come in for him ages ago when he was younger? Generally if they are any good they go.

        If it comes off; great.
If these lower league prospects DONT come off, everyone will be moaning asking why they were signed!
Would you prefer we sign "Premiership" players, such as Steven Reid & Ben Watson, neither of whom worked out for us ? Or the likes of Caleb Folan who we had a lucky escape with ?

Don't know how old you are Jeffro, but the likes of a certain Stan Bowles and Don Givens were hardly household names when we bought them, but would walk into almost any side in the land if they were playing today.

Have faith and trust the manager to do the job asked of him. He knows how to build a TEAM, as opposed to just spending loads of money in the hope it works out.

Old enough to know Bowles, Given, Thomas, Givens, etc..

Marsh and Givens where exceptionally talented individuals whom come to a team like QPR once in a blue moon.
If you reccommend that we keep signing unknown lower league player in the hope that we unearth another Marsh, Clive allen, Les Ferdinand....
You will waste an awful lotof money and wait an awfully long time.

I agree that they CAN in some instances get lucky and be found though maybe 1 in every 100.

I'm all for looking around the lower leagues for good young talent but it has to be sumplimented with a good number of signings that are proven at this level.

I'll admit to having never heard of Tamika Mkandawire before today but you have to ask, if this guy is so good how come he has reached 27 years of age and not been picked up before?

I'm not recommending anything Jeffro, just trying to be patient and see how it all works out before criticising the manager. I appreciate that you are not criticising him for the sake of it as it appears some others would.

I can't help feling that the problem Warnock is going to have, is that nearly all the fans patience has worn very thin over the last few disapointing years, leaving him to take the brunt of it.

I may well be deluded, but I'm going to remain positive until at least August.

He is from Malawi so we will probably be out-bid by Madonna anyway. :impatient:

It states "long term replacement" which i guess means Stewpeas still has a place in the squad?

Jeffro, your negativity really makes me laugh. You seem to think that we can buy success - last summer everybody was sp****ng over Cox who went to W.B.A & done jack. Successful teams are built. We have a proven manager at last & it looks like the board will back him and he will be with us to build. Perhaps that is why he is a professional football manager & youre not. I for one have renewed again for this year and am very excited about the year ahead (as I was last year). If you dont like what a seasoned professional is trying to build, perhaps your best being QPR's manager on playstations Championship Manager, then you can buy whoever you want.

Keep up the posts as they cheer me up

Cox cost what? A million, scored some important goals and his team got promoted Artful, I'd be quite happy with signing someone like him, then doing "jack" if thats what jack involves!!

a 27 year old "excellent prospect" eh?

if we're in for a centre back someone like rochdale's craig dawson would be an actual "understated and astute signing", but then of course he would cost 800 grand while mkandawire is out of contract.

i don't think anyone can argue warnock isn't under sharp financial restrictions at this point.

                                It says he's a "towering" centre-back.........well if 6' 1" is towering, then I'm a dutchman !!
