Such a shame -- when we were firing pre-Matt Pickens I used to love watching Viney play, yet another reason why I hope we beat the You Ess Hey on Saturday.

It was a hideous injury and we should not forget this:-
He was taken to hospital with a double break and dislocation in the back of someones estate car FFS.

Counter that with if you are a pro and are facing a long lay off you'd probably be expected to do the "pro thing" and not spend your spare time in the cake shop

On balance -- I'm gutted for the old Vine but not sad to see the back of the new, much bigger, Vine.

Vine was certainly not shi*t in his 1st season at QPR. As already said, he and Buzsaky transformed QPR's attacking play. However, he clearly has not been the same player since his leg break.

I think the club can take a large share of the blame for his lack of rehabilitation. He has been played as a bit part player here and there, interspersed with the occasional appearance for some sort of reserve side featuring kids and trialists played against p*ss poor opposition i.e. Crawley's reserves.

Maybe he should have taken the option of going out on loan to Millwall, and with the benefit of hindsight, he probably would have. Perhaps for personal reasons he did not want to join Millwall. I still think QPR could have offered him on loan to other clubs either in England, Scotland or maybe abroad in order to get him fit.

I would have tried to loan him to a team in Sweden, Denmark or Norway from March until July.

Probably true, in which case QPR should have organised proper behind closed door fixtures alongside a number of 1st team squad players, against decent opposition, rather than just train with the team and be given a 5 minute appearance here and there.

I would keep him as he would benefit form one of Warnock's pre seasons and the last thing any manager should do it get rid of someone who wants to stay and fight for his place, without given them a chance.
