Luke is entitled to his opinion as mush as anyone, not every one is going to agree with everyone, that would make this board very boring.Pity members like W12 and youvebeen rangered dont see it that way and will insult you if they disagree with you

But yeah, its all about opinions. Mine are like tomatoes kept in a brown paper bag on the mantle-piece - as soon as they go off I change them

exactly mate.i dnt get into arguments with people cos i like a player and they dont.i just think there are better players out there we could get.if we do get him i really hope he proves me wrong and bangs em in like he did for palace.

I've already pointed that out...on this thread, I think?!.

I still maintain he's lazy and not as good as last season suggests, but that was under NW. This is why Mackie will shine. NW get's the best out of most of his players. This is another reason he's a 'proper manager'
                Your mum would love me...

Whilst I am not always a fan of his style of football, I think you and others underrate Warnock.

The link bleow gives you more info on Warnock's management career.

He has previously guided Notts county to two promotions and into the top flight, Huddersfield, Plymouth and Sheff Utd have also won promotion whilst he was their manager.

I think that clearly makes him a better manager than Dowie and many others.

What I am really saying is we should trust NW, who I believe is trying to build a team/squad, rather than just signing random players as we have done in the recent past.
As regards signings, there is no guarantee that any player at any club will be a success, even if he cost millions. How many expensive signings did it take to get Newcastle relegated? Liverpool have spent hundreds of millions, but are going backwards.
Down the years I have seen us spend a lot of money on strikers - Hateley, Sheron, Spencer etc, none of whom could be described as a success (Hateley could be described as a c**t, obviously )
OK Spencer was good initially. The point is, signings sometimes work only as part of the overall plan. Helguson splits opinion on here, but bottom line is, he seems to suit Watford, and they suit him.
So, I want people to trust NW at the moment. Don't moan "he is crap" about players you know nothing about, equally don't go overboard in praise if we sign a "name" striker. The unknown may be a good buy, the "star" may not work in our side.
Give Warnock the pre-season, give him 10 games at the start of the season, and then we can start to formulate a decent opinion.
And before somebody jumps all over that, no, I am not saying that if we arent doing well after 10 games we should "do a Flabio"
Spencer was good initially is true, but that was largely down to his partner up front i.e. Dichio.

Spencer was less effective when Hateley was in the side, and even more so, when partnered with Sheron. Had Stupid Houston, just shown more faith in Dichio, he would probablty have stayed on at QPR and partnered Spencer to help QPR win promotion.

Not my problem you don't live in the UK. I'm just astounded that someone can be so opinionated on how players perform when they are not at the matches or write off players based on their wikipedia stats before even seeing them play all from the comfort of your armchair.

Very true, but I was merely pointing out that Dichio won many headers for Spencer to finish off.

To this day, I firmly believe that had Dichio kept his place alongside Spencer, QPR would have made the play-offs that season and that Dichio would probably have signed a deal to stay on.
