    A QUALITY STRIKER(again!)

I know this has been posted a million times before,BUT surely the board has learned their lesson and realize we need to push the boat out on this one.Hooper is available for £1 million,a steal at that, but we need to convince him that QPR are the club for him,and pay him the wages he wants.I know we are in talks with him, along with others but he must be our no1 target this summer, and we must have a back up plan just in case.We need 3 strikers brought in,Mackie wont score many,so a goalscorer is so important, and i REALLY hope we land Hooper.

Maybe Hooper doesnt want to come here.Season has only been finished just over a week and people are already flapping and questioning Warnocks judgement.

Couldn't agree more.According to the Mail this morning,we have agreed £1m for Mackie which seems a waste of money to me.Everyone is banging on about how good a player he is but you can't ignore the stats.16 in 96 for Plymouth and 19 in 91 for Exeter.Reasonable return for a defender or out of sorts midfielder, but not for an out and out striker. All I can assume is that he's responsible for hundreds of assists. We need a proper striker NOW (probably 3) if we are to realise our dreams.I know its early days yet but we'll see. Also read today that Strachan's Middlesboro' are tracking Speroni.

Matthew, you said you were happy about the players we are going to sign!!! One of those positions you stated was a striker. Have you heard something different now to your reasons to be optimistic???

Massive over reaction again. The season has only just finished. Sure, rumours are nice, but let's be fair...NONE of us really know what's going on. Not me, not you, not Egham...I don't understand why some of you get yourselves worked up so easilly. It's ridiculous to see a thread like this every other day ffs. I'm staying confident, no matter what. The board have already stated they're going to back NW, and NW has already stated he wants another crack at the Prem. Put those two together and one would hope that with 30 years experience and a decent transfer kitty available, we'll be pushing for promotion.

Let's put the Viagra back in the drawer, stop getting excited and let things materialise. Jesus, it's too early for this.

Agree Benny. These negative threads are getting rather tiresome. I'm not saying we should all agree or all be happy with who signs for us but we should put a little faith in our manager. A manager who thankfully the vast majority can see that he knows what he is doing.

I'm much more confident having someone like Mackie with Warnock in charge then if we had tried to sign him with Magiliton as boss. Warnock gets the best out of players and although Mackie has never set the world a light I'm confident that he'll get the best out of Mackie.

Yes i have,in relation to Hooper, but we are still trying to get him.The point of my thread is that we need to go the extra mile to get him.I AM pleased with other news coming through in other positions, but its the striker situation that has me concerned,a position we have failed to solve in the previous couple of years.

Pete, can you put up a negative section next to the boardroom, or the toys and dummy section.

                Much appreciated.
                They seek him here.................

Hooper himself must want to come here. If he doesnt sign, we must go for another striker.
I should believe he is every club“s target at the moment. So in that respect, it isent excatly a straight forward piece of work to get him. I guess his agent is playing quite a "game" to up the price now..

Having said this I hope we will see him in hoops and all that. But I am sure Warnock has a plan B and a plan C as well.

Tiresome SPC, that is an understatement. We haven't signed anyone yet - so we are moaning about newspaper reports about possible signings.Priceless QPR fans...although i have to say...reading other fans boards...the majority appear to be on here.

maybe we should sign a player first....then maybe...watch him play a few games..then maybe slate the useless b/stard.....Not unlike what we did to Faurlin last season.Afetr a few games....he was slaughtered by many fans as he did not set the world on fire.

Good piece on another thread SPC about team importance by the way

Think your find its aimed at some of the replies.
And to a lot of Hysteria on here regarding possible player signings.

The extra mile we have got a wage cap remember sooo it is gonna be hard for a 'small' club like us to attract Hooper would be the best signing in a while....
