Yes you are right and calling someone ignorant is a bit harsh but I find much of our support see things so black on white on this issue. A difference of opinion is perfectly fine but failure to justify an opinion sounds a bit ignorant IMO, much of our many support refuse to even acknowledge the bigger picture that is the bottom line IMO but obviously others will disagree.Comment

Bet he likes to tell everyone he is off to W12 with pride on the weekend or meeting in the Springbok / Smutts for a pint before the match then disappeared with the crowds after the match especially when it gets dark.
Completely sidetracked from the original debate as well but there you go....Last edited by W12_Ranger; 08-05-2010, 04:33 PM.Comment

w12 ranger slightly off topic, you like giving it, but don't like taking it
, pretty obvious from this thread.
Back to the subject, it was 2 years ago that the club put the prices up and even though a good deal with Zebra this season, the financial climate shows how hard it is for the majority of supporters, not just for QPR.
if you are asking if prices were reduced, would we increase in numbers, to me its all about value for money. Nothing indicates it is, until we at least look like getting in the play offs.
Though I do not buy its cheaper to watch Fulham because 9 times of 10 it is not.ALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

The argument for reducing ST's to original levels or comparable to clubs with bigger fan bases or higher TV Revenues is not straight forward. We are really talking about an additional 2-3k fans here through the gate, something which IMO would happen if we were pushing for promotion anyway.w12 ranger slightly off topic, you like giving it, but don't like taking it

The romanticism of The Mittals covering the shortfall in Ticket Sales and Transfer Expenditure appeals to all but in reality is not going to happen. The point I am trying to make up here is that don't you think the Board have weighed everything up and given us the best deal they feel is possible. I don't believe they are oblivious of the price we feel should be paying ad they are taking advantage of loyal supporters to some degree. However, IMO gates are proportional to success on the pitch not ticket prices and the Board recognise this. Briatore for all his faults knew this but was clueless in his ability to run a football club.Comment

True, they are incentivising it, if we get 9,000 season ticket holders. I just feel that the upper loft would have been filled if they had reduced gold to a silver price. This categorised section do not work, because we simply don't sell out. Its easy to pay a bronze price and sit in a gold section especially upper loft.
They could have made a statement by reducing the price a little, though hopefully this time next year if we have a good season, the price might look worth itALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Granted they could have done more but its too early to pass judgment until we see what activity occurs in the transfer market. 9000 may seem a high target but nothing is impossible and that would deliver a 15% reduction for us Early Bird customers.True, they are incentivising it, if we get 9,000 season ticket holders. Consider this scenario we get promoted this season and ST's are freezed for 2011/12.....would we be happy then? Then what if we stay up and expand the ground in 2012. The expanded capacity could then be use to reduce ST prices assuming we could sell 15000 ST's. Then what do you know our ST prices are somewhere in line with Fulham, you see how it can work.
My opinion is we fans need to show our commitment to the cause this upcoming season and I think the board will respond positively. In actual fact they already have but end of the day you can't keep everyone happy especially QPR fans.Last edited by W12_Ranger; 08-05-2010, 09:21 PM.Comment

Agreed, we trust AMIT and Ishan more than we did Flavio, the trouble is a statment of intent would have been made if certain areas were reduced. We were up in arms when these prices were first introduced, yet we seem to expect it now.
Truth is, many people have been effected by the financial climate and going to QPR has been put on the back burner for many.
One thing I hope not to see next season is this constant offer of free tickets, £10 deals happen regular. As season tickets holders it would have been cheaper to go game by game last season and that cannot be right. We are the heart of any suport for this club and most of the time, that is abused. I don't want to see more than 3-4 promotions next season for walkers in, as I won't buy a season ticket again if that happensALL BEST BANTER AND ALL THE LATEST FROM QPR.

Ok I sse your point about the Upper Loft but changing the price banding in the Upper Loft would cause conflict with ST Holders in other parts of the ground. It doesn't take a lot for our supporters to complain so I can understand why the price banding wasn't changed. I'm sure the free ticket deals will not be so prominent next year, I'm confident Warnock will start filling the ground anyway.Agreed, we trust AMIT and Ishan more than we did Flavio, the trouble is a statment of intent would have been made if certain areas were reduced. The biggest annoyance for me is the Lower Loft Family Stand, this should be in the Ellerslie Rd but until this stand is redeveloped it won't happen. It would be nice for us to name a signing next week which will excite fans, I really think the EBD should have been the end of the first week of June.Comment
