thanks for the info egham. realise warno wants a physical presence but not sure stead, hill etc are the quality we need if we are looking for automatic promotion.

Jon Stead is a proper handful, and a decent player in this league.

What isn't "good enough" is the shower of shite we've had as a forward line for ages now.
Apart from Simpson, and he's borrowed. And ran out of steam lately.

he is average. couldnt get a regular game for an average ipswich team and got loaned out to another average team. average average average.

if he's the 3rd choice striker, then ok. if he's coming in to be the main man.. we're in for another disappointment.

On his own seems like another freebie journeyman Paladini type signing.

but stead as 3rd choice isnt bad - warnock gets the best out of his players so he could transform stead into a top 2 choice upfront!
