thanks for the info egham. realise warno wants a physical presence but not sure stead, hill etc are the quality we need if we are looking for automatic promotion.

if this is the level of player we can look forward to, expect another mid table finish next season.

Whoever's name is put up, at least a couple of people will label them "not good enough".
Jon Stead is a proper handful, and a decent player in this league.

What isn't "good enough" is the shower of shite we've had as a forward line for ages now.
Apart from Simpson, and he's borrowed. And ran out of steam lately.

about a 12 goal a season striker - warnock really likes him. as long as we get 2 others, 1 who is really prolific i think stead wud be a gd signing

he is average. couldnt get a regular game for an average ipswich team and got loaned out to another average team. average average average.

if he's the 3rd choice striker, then ok. if he's coming in to be the main man.. we're in for another disappointment.

He is not good enough to justify charging £600 for a ST

following on from Egham Hoop heard the big lanky one will either be Hulse or Stead.

Stead + Hooper + Beattie then im ok, Stead as the main striker not good enough, just means he cant score against us!
On his own seems like another freebie journeyman Paladini type signing.

Stead aint bad, plus will stop him scoring against us.

not prolific or good enough for a starting place if we're serious about a top 2 finish next season. but as back up then OK

Stead plus 2 other GOOD strikers then great....Stead on his own or with another of the same ability then Here We Go Again..

                              much prefer hulse

but stead as 3rd choice isnt bad - warnock gets the best out of his players so he could transform stead into a top 2 choice upfront!
