I think when paladini gives a fan a shirt for free he's got a one way agenda, to get himself another puppet on the message boards.

I was in the club shop once and paladini was in there. A bloke who had just been served went up to paladini and said "these girls are the friendliest club shop girls ever", to which paladini replied "make sure you go on the message boards and say that!". Instead of just saying thanks, or your compliment is appreciated, the first thing he replies is get on the messageboard and tell everyone!
I believe that paladini is so wary of public opinion of him on messageboards that he does all these little gestures t get positive feedback on them.

Well if you're reading paladini your time is running out, doesn't matter how many freebies you give away you'll be gone next season!

around 20% of our supporters actually visit messageboards and no-one goes up to him and says I'm Morris or whoever and I visit a messageboard and can give you publicity if you give me a shirt!!
