Quick message from OOp North to say Well played . That was a very very impressive performance from you lads . At one point in the first half , playing your way out of the corner flag and up the pitch was Real Madrid-esque.
Bonham our 'keeper MOM with Central Defender Forinho close behind .
We were reduced to 3 or 4 half chances and backs to the wall defending in our smash & grab .
See you at our place in March ..... at least the beer will be cheaper .Comment

If Kone is our goal scorer we are in a bit of trouble. Little skill no pace can’t imagine us progressing with him. Great team performance today and should have won no problem which is worrying. Without a proven scorer we will struggle. Two points dropped today I’m afraid. Not disheartened but we have a problem that needs looking atComment

I feel we need to stop playing two wingers and revert to Kone AND Burrell up front as a pair. It's not like Burrell did anything when he came on. Let's face it, when has playing just one striker resulted in us having a successful streak recently?Comment

Well, just back from the game, and I have to say we played some good football at times and we seem to have learned how to scrap and that includes Saito. But it's all for nothing if you can't score! I promise not to mention the dreaded "K" word in that context, but I'm sure that if Kolli had played ..... Oh no! There I go again!Comment

That was a hard watch , kone doesn't win any headers and gets turned and bullied by defenders .
We don't move the ball quickly enough and lack the killer punch in front of goal , Bolton keeper was good we never looked like beating him ..

As Abs said, these games against the promoted teams are bound to be arduous. They fought hard and GK had a great game. I feel ok though. Another season we might have lost all 3 points late on. As for us not having a goal scorer. They are a rare beast and if any good, would be sucked up into the PL. I saw much promise yesterday. Keep working hard and see what can be done with Kone.Comment

It's only 12 months since we split the Wrexham back line and Kone latched onto that throughball and bang, smashed into the top right corner without hesitation from 25 yards. Clean through in a similar situation yesterday and he literally froze... slow to react, slow to get onto the ball, slow when bearing down on goal and a tame shot with zero conviction... like a totally different player.
We have to hope the "real" Kone is still in there and be patient. Maybe he needs to play 90mins every week, be "The Man", our "Big Dog", carrying the fight up top. He doesnt want to share the role with Burrell or anyone. Either we revert to him and Burrell as a front pair, or work on Kone's attitude/mentality and get him to embrace his position in the squad. If he cant adapt or fit in we might have to let him go.Comment

Everybody needs to calm down just one of these games it will happen every year. Boltons keeper had the game of the season man of the match for them. Kone's first start of the season he will find the goal have patience. People are so harsh first game of the season for him and hes worthless?!

A goal every three games is the minimum requirement, which is 15 for the season, which is five more than he scored last season. Ideally, he needs to be hitting close to 20 for the season and others contributing around him too. I'd be pleasantly suprised if he gets 15.....

Forward just before the 53rd minute. At first view the ball looked to go dead and Saito does a superman impression. A later replay seems to show him almost diving before he got to the defender. There may have been some contact but his dive didnt look natural, and even exagerated. There werent too many players appealing either. On balance I can understand why the referee didnt give it. It was a similar scenario for the Chair penalty appeal in the last 5-10mins. Both looked like we were trying to buy a pen and the diving motion started too early. You may disagree with me on both.....as they say, I've seen 'em given!!
Two Kone misses 23-26mins. The last one he got the ball in a central position but took the ball out to the right and in doing so, gave himself a much narrower angle to shoot from and it was staight at the keeper for an easy save from distance. He should gone straight at the keeper, let him commit and then go slighty wide. His poor touch took him wide too early.
