    Chair

Just like the last couple of seasons. Slowing us down, wants and has the ball to much, taking every corner and freekick though others are more suited, can’t and won’t check, slow and gives the opposing team plenty of time to play from the back, often losing the ball in dangerous positions, making the other creative players worse (Madsen for example), looks like everyone has to pass him even though other players are in a better position etc.

We are better when we don’t start him. We are slow and predictable with him and he shouldn’t be a starter. Impact sub when the other team is trying to hold to their lead - yes (if he’s not sulking to much then, if so sell), but not a starter. He’s like Neymar for Brazil, big name and skillful, but the teams worse when he’s playing.
Kone and Chair together = no checking and pressing, and we are on the backfoot. Burrell and Kone works, both offensively and defensively, why change that?

I hate it when he is fit again as it means he always starts even when he has had no minutes off the bench or is made to earn the shirt. Then feels like its his god given right to take every set piece even though he ball in is utter sh1 te!! Greedy overated and doesnt suit the way we play. Slows everything down and doesn't seem to be overly popular with his teammates. Should have sold him 3 years ago at his peak. Now we couldn't give him away.

    As for his pen?? Embarrassing.

He was very poor today , needs to drive forward with pace , not stop check back and pass back .

He must be on borrowed time here. Cifuentes and now Stephan must be scratching their heads wondering why he has a reputation as a top player at the club. All they have seen is a slow, dawdling, meandering, greedy player with a poor ability to kick a dead ball.

Very sad. Cant fault his commitment and loyalty to the club but he really needs to move on and kick-start his career.

Im happy to say that if we got an offer for him we should let him go
Players go stale at clubs and I think this is illias.

I heard his family are very settled in West London. I think he'll see his contract out even if he becomes a squad player. Back and hsmstring injuries have taken their toll.

Its a shame but this happens to most players.
They just seem to go off the boil, normally its pace as well but the illias who could beat players, score a freekick, create isn't here anymore.

Chill. It's one game. He's had two seasons of being injured and that run in with the law. He'll be back...I hope.

No it’s not just one game, and it’s not because of his injuries and dates with the law. This is a problem we’ve had for several seasons.
We play better without him. We should offer him to the Saudis. Yes he’s under contract and yes he’s settled in Richmond, but if we’re going to be successful we can’t be the Salvation Army. He’s not helping our team, simple as that, time for change and the next step. He’s under contract til June 27. Sell him now and if it means only £ 500 k - take it.

We need a squad of players and im sure Chair will be a great option from the bench.

Yes that is possible, but the more I’m thinking about it, I believe he then would be poisonous for the team. He can’t let people better suited to take freekicks and corners, often showing supernegative body language against teammates in games and always has to be the one who has the ball the majority of the time in the oppositions half - guess what would happen if he wasn’t a regular starter…..

I doubt Chair would entertain a move away with only one year left on his contract and his family settled and kids in school. I doubt many teams would want him either....they never did when he was on his game years ago.

JS is an experienced manager and im sure if there are younger players who are performing better, then they will be on the pitch, if only to make them sellable assets. Its up to JS and the data guys to drill into Chair what he needs to improve on. But with previous back and hamstring issues, I doubt it will be too long before Chair is back in the treatment room!
