I think parachute payments are a big causal factor of this. It means that relegated teams come down with loads of money so the other teams in the division need to spend more to compete with them.

The whole of professional football has financial feet of clay and it's increasingly looking like only a matter of time before it begins to topple. It's not just the clubs either - there are increasing numbers of people turning away from the high pricing at league clubs, or feeling truly sickened by the continuing greed and corrupt practice at the top of the game, and are looking to return to something that feels far more community based, affordable and sportingly balanced.

There's always going to be a straw that breaks the camel's back and I'm not sure whether I'll have any interest in the Championship - and by extension, Rangers - for next season with the widening of the play off places and the disingenuous nature of the reasons given for its implementation.

And, yeah.....parachute payments. Don't get me started.

For anything to work it's gotta be sorted internationally. FIFA needs looking into.

Invite the money men in and guess what - they are not interested in the good of the game or the fans. Money is their business, their life. If they ruin football, they’ll just move on to the next thing. $$$$$

At times, the beautiful game feels like it has turned into an international money laundering scheme.

People will hate it but one of the best solutions is a salary cap adopted by NFL. It takes care of the problem by a large degree. However I know people will say it will ruin the game but it’s heading that way anyway

We spent £1,829,036 in agents fees during 25/26 according to the article below.

If this is true to comes to approximately 10% of the season losses the season before 24/25. A staggering amount of money!!
