But Warnock's compensation figure (if any) would be agreed directly with the administrator. It wouldn't be a secret and would have been known at the time of the official approach. The administrator, whilst pressing for the best deal, would take a figure substantially less than stipulated in Colin's CP contract.

If we didn't know or didn't ask the question, we need someone with a little bit more nous to be asking these questions.

    IMO

Nodge I wish you worked for our club.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

So do I mate. I have all the necessary experience in working in the game at a senior level and like to think I could really make a difference.

        Am open to offers!

In the context of the Mittals - the amount of compensation we would need pay is surely irrelevant. If, as we all hope, the Mittals are going to get serious about running this football club, then the amount if compensation we pay is not as important as getting the right manager

That comment translates as - they have loads of money so come and throw it at Rangers, irrespective of what it costs, let's face it you can afford it. I think you are going to be very disappointed if that's how you think the man will play.
Getting serious about running the club means doing it wisely - no one wants to be a Portsmouth in the making.

Right, so lets get a manager nobody has heard of and fill the team full of loans and cast-offs because that works !!!!!!!!!!!!! If they are serious they need to spend money. The reason we are near to relegation is because not enough money has been spent on a proven manager and quality players.

Not true. I would like them to at least spend some money, no - some serious amount of money. If not then WTF are they doing with QPR????
You only have to look at Forest. They employed a bloody good manager, bought good CCC players, including a couple of ours, and now look at them. I want QPR to be successful. It doesn't take Chelsea or Portsmouth for that matter type money to be successful. You only have to look down the road at Fulham.

Unless these guys really want to get serious then we using Forest and then Fulham asa template is the way to go. But arsing about like Briatore will not work.

Careful Pete, that could be seen as confirmation that it is Dowie, after "It's Definitely Not Jim", saw Magilton walk through the door the following week.

Oh right, that's what I've said is it? Just because the man has a vast fortune he should just pay what ever it takes to get NW should he? That makes for a really well thought out business plan. The reason we are near relegation is because a bunch of over paid footballers have used the poor mis management of the club as an excuse to pick up their gross wages without putting in the required level of effort.

But hey, over pay the Administrators of a financially ruined and poorly mis managed Football Club to get your man and give the impression to the footballing world that this rich guy will pay whatever it takes to get his man - back to square 1 and cue the Pompey scenario in next to no time.

Pay what it is worth to release him from his contract and not a penny more. If they want to inflate the price because Mittal is so rich, tell them where to go and go and find another equally competent man who represents better value and show the same footballing world that you are not there to be shafted simply because you are rich.

Note to self - when I win the EuroMillions, appoint Rangersroar as my personal financial advisor

                        I actually agree with sprocket.
If we need to spend 1 million on a proven manager then that will be the best 1 million the club has spent. If we are to be successful we need to spend money but if we spend it in the right areas then that is just shrewd business.
loaning players and just throwing all our money on wages is the biggest waist of time. What about the 2.5m we made from the sale of WR, where has that money gone? If they have bought the club to run at a profit them expect relegation because we need to spend in the right area's.

I'm sure our owners know all the in's and out but I do hope we get this one right, even if we wait another 2 to 3 weeks.

I think the point I am making has been missed guys? I am not suggesting that money should not be spent and I agree if the price is right, spend it on Warnock - what I don't agree with is a mentality that just because the bloke is mega rich he should chuck money at it, whatever the consequences - including paying over the odds and making future transactions ever more inflated just because of a perception of desperation and/or a willingness to pay over the odds.
