  • Our youngsters.

A lot been said about JS giving young players the break through. I do like JS and in the long term he may be a good choice. However, I am disappointed by the lack of game time to our young prospects. Kolli and Morgan should be more involved for sure. Then there are the Ausie lads. Adamson was good when I saw him in a right back position during pre-season. Yet, he never joined the squad. There was also Aoroha and other which should be given some minutes from time to time. I accept the positive fact that injuries are not as bad as last season and may it continue. However, there should be a space in the squad for some of them to give them hope for the future. If not, they start to look elsewhere and other promising youngsters will think twice before joining us. Arsenal are giving minutes to a fifteen year old and they have a huge, much better squad.

Hard to disagree with point re kids, hard to compare the Arsenal kid as he will be surrounded by 10 other superb players and he can come on with a game already won at say 3 up

Morgan feel should play more and kolli must come on ahead of Frey who is shite

not giving much game time to kids imo don’t help us getting a decent young loan player in as well, I know we tried Sutton and Lloyd last term and gone out and tbh that’s the right call.

this leagues a tough gig for managers anyone can beat anyone but if we need to sell 12m a season looking at what we have of the signings Burrell stock must of gone up the rest from summer I doubt if others gone up in value

Aren't most of these lads 19-20 yrs old? I think next season will be their break through season and hopefully move them on by 22-24 yrs at a profit.

At least we dont have 22-24 yr old players anymore with only a handful of sub appearances.

He did it at Plymouth and got absolute pelters

The meltdown on here every time we lose can you imagine how much worse it would be if he played the kids

I am not in favour of putting six young players in as it was the case against Plymouth. That was a huge mistake. But surely a 30 minute cameo every game for good prospects will. Forget to mention Tylon Smith. Played in three major tournements; was nominated for S. Africa best young player and recently joining the country first team squad! Yet, not a sight in our squad!

I'm sure Smith will get a chance next season. There should be spaces because Cook will surely leave, and JCS needs to do a lot just to get a one year extention.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm sure we're very close to cashing in on Varane if there's still interest in him from Spain. Morgan will be a natural replacement.

Lloyd has only made three appearances for Orient this season and no goals. I have no idea if he's injured or just not being picked? Bur whatever the reason hes not getting any development there.

I think it’s a case of “the next taxi off the rank” youngsters actually are already playing - Burrell, Kone, Saito, Dembele, Poku, Morrison, Walsh and Mbengue are those in the picture for resale. The next layer are the replacements for them once their value has gone up enough and they move on. Keeps things in house.

The stumbling block is, of course, what if the first rankers don’t improve?

Kolli and Morgan. Bit over rated in my opinion. High hopes for them last year, not pushed on this year.

Both of them behind 3-4 players for position in team.
