Yeah, Gareth is an establishment figure and a yes man. He didnt have any track record at club level. At least Bobby Robson has years at club level before took on the England job. His knighthood was deserved for what he had achieved in football over 50yrs.
So Gareth gets a knighthood, but not good enough to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. But at least we know hes the wrong sex and colour for that these days!

It’s a a total joke the honours system as has been proven yet again this year. How can you compare Southgate or Khan to a brain surgeon or anyone who works saving lives and improving our lives. Not just doing there jobs which are grossly overpaid. Phew!!! That feels better

The whole awards system should be scrapped.
It's only used to keep the establishment snouts in the public pocket.
It's just keeping them the same people with a say over how the people live

England have always been ranked 5-10th in the world. To get to the 2018 WC Final was over and above what was expected.
But in the Euros, England are one of the big teams alongside Germany, France & Spain so by ranking theres a 50/50 chance of making the final.
How he can be labelled the most successful England Manager when he didnt win anything is beyond me! That comment shows a total disregard for what Sir Alf achieved. If I was Gareth I'd be too ashamed to accept it and feel like a fraud.
If anyone needs a knighthood it's Neil Warnock. He holds the record for the most number of games managed at 1,626 and has secured the highest number of promotions with eight.

I'm trying to think if this is more or less annoying than Sir Lenny Henry

Gareth wears a lifejacket in the bath so he must have had a crash helmet on when the sword came out?!
