Wasn't he out for quite a few weeks at start of the year, knee injury I think. If he's done his knee again it would be a red flag to buyers this summer and would require him to get fit and put in a run of weeks/months of playing before interested parties would resurrect their interest - basically it could banjax any possible move this window.

Beyond that I want him to play at Euros. One goal scored there would resonate more than 6 goals scored in Championship. Would just take one barnstorming performance and a goal for Scotland to make a LOT of suitors sit up and get keen.

Doesn't look good when they say he yelled out and lay on the floor. Hope it's not an ACL injury becauae he'd be out until Xmas. Scotland didn't release any details of the injury but I hope the club does soon.

I knew we'd be covered but wasn't totally aware of the "cap". That cap might bite if Dykes was out for ages, maybe 9+ months (I can't be assed doing the maths plus I'd be guessing his wages) but we should be okay.
I suppose the cap makes sense... If someone like Haaland got crocked whilst away with Norway he'd bankrupt the federation within weeks.

To be fair to Dykes and I’m far from his biggest fan but he did ok last few games couple of goals and compared to Frey Lyndon looks like Maradona. Which to be fair most of us look like a pro player compared to Frey

Talking about Frey can we get shot of him? I thought we only signed him until the end of the season. Bloke went completely missing when we desperately needed him. Thank god that our other signings brought in some quality maybe minus the wolves lad which was a bit disappointing but a free hit

Frey was signed on a 18 months contract I think. Not sure we have seen the best of him. Two out and out wingers could make the best out him, mind.

€7.5m is about £6.4m.

At £20k a week for a year we'd need £1m of that cap. If it ended his career we'd need another £2m which is his transfer value.

At least we'll get his summer wages covered and I'm sure he'll be back around Sept. Eagerly awaiting injury news from the club though. Hopefully just standard ligament damage.

This is really helpful. Sorry I got it wrong. At least this way we can go out and find another striker so whilst it’s bad news it’s softened because of the insurance
