Marti's Future

Great article on Sky Sports exuding what a great job Marti has done - reads like an invite to anyone who’s looking for a decent manager though as they do big up his record since joining us

Tabby the cat has agreed to do the job, she is available 10 hours a week, the FA pay me.

Dons tin helmet first, perhaps Marti could take over from Southgate, infact my 3 legged cat would be better than Southgate.

Can’t believe anyone believes this is going to happen, not a chance

To me, a move to Sunderland makes little sense. It is sideways move, to a club the level of QPR. As far as I understand, they have less financial wriggle room than QPR, which has good financial freedom in 2024/2025 after getting the 2021/2022 figures out of the three year FFP equation. I think Marti feels at ease with the cooperation with Nourry and I think he believes he can reach PL with QPR in a couple of seasons.
Burnley is a more tempting opportunity, if an offer should come around. If Burnley made Marti an offer I would feel nervous, as Burnley is favourite for promotion. Any manager in the world aims to coach a PL team, and I fear Marti couldn't reject an offer from Burnley, as the chance he would be a PL coach in 2025/2026 would be high. However, if Marti is smart (and I think he is), he will be aware that his CV will strengthen a lot if he can demonstrate to the bigger fishes out there that he can build something over time. If he takes QPR to PL and manage to keep us up, he can sign for a top ten PL club or a top European club.
I haven't read anything from QPR journos who would report this I must admit.
Just @reluctantnicko on twitter said his name.
But I feel he can be hit and miss
