Watched James's podcast Saturday morning.
Barton speaks about his time here , I was flabbergasted we paid him around 22 million in 4 years . One season he was in Marseille .
He did ok here , part of promotion team but he never pulled up any trees ....

A legend in his own mind. He always thought he was a lot better than he was. Kept trying to do Beckham style passes which more often than not ended up giving away possession. Was at his most effective when keeping things simple in middle of park. Worth only a fraction of what we paid him in wages and add ons.

He was a decent enough Premiership player but nothing special. Outside of that horrible character. Also had this persona of the footballing bard but could barely form a complete sentence.
