A lot of posters seems to have forgotton this deadline.

We dont have much to spend because thr Board spent too much in the last two seasons before GA got here.

If you stick with GA and give him the transfer window then you have to give him until Christmas imo. No point letting him sign players then sacking him early October.

Or sack him now and get someone in to sign the type of player they want.

Another issue is players wanting to come when we're bottom of the league. We have to get a result at Cardiff and beat Ipswich, a minimum of 4 points required because we won't be getting a result at the saints.

It's stick or twist already. I have no doubt the club will stick and then twist in October, which is the worst outcome of it all but then this board struggle to make the right decision time after time.

Willock will not be here after 1st Sept. I suspect he already knows where hes going and the club will be waiting a ladt ditched bargain price. Clubs know we're skint so I reckon it will be a £1m sale. He doesnt want to be here.

We proved last season that the table in early November, or after 16 games, has no meaning in terms of the final shake-up. When the window shuts, we'll have played 4 league games, 3 of which are away games and 2 against teams with parachute money. Launching Ainsworth on September 1st would be utterly ridiculous and boneheaded.

Give Ainsworth at least 10 games after September 1st to work with a settled team and see how he's doing. If we are in a parlous state he'd have to go and be replaced with someone who'd then have several games to assess the squad before the January window opens. I can't see we'd be able to do much in that window but maybe if we have new money or new owners we could get some loan players in.

You get the feeling that our owners are either not sharp enough to use loopholes or are trying to be whiter than white for fa throwing bo9k at us again

Spreading the transfer fee over 5 or 6 seasons does not save a penny in the FFP calculations and is of no help.

However, if a club gives a player a long contract, say 5 years, the amortisation of the player contract can be spread over a longer period, reducing the annual amortisation (20% annually as in the case with a 5 year contract). However, as we do not pay transfer fees right now, as there is no room for it, there is nothing to gain from an FFP point of view issuing long contracts. More importantly though, those clubs that issue long contract simply to reduce annual amortisation in present FFP-period, only push the problem in front of them. It is a poor tactics that will backfire, just like selling the stadium, that will also backfire down the road.

I agree with you though that there is a lot of questionable practises between clubs that share the same ownership. That open up for ways to get around FFP in perfectly legal ways, even though it might compromise with the spirit of FFP.
