i like Randall though so hopefully he gets a chance at some point if not in the league in the upcoming game in cup versus Norwich?
"I like Rendall", sorry based on what. Forgive me if wrong but has he ever been on subs bench for us in competitive game? 22 next month. Warburton, Beale, Critchley showed no interest. Ainsworth has nobody else, only options Fox, unfit or Hawkins and Woodman, too young to risk.

season is just 2 days away

dunne our only available centre half gets injured and day 1 we are having an injury crisis

on top of us not having any strikers available (i include Dykes asin my eyes hes not a striker hes just a bystander)

with the crock of mess GA has available

      hes got to go

      Begovic
      Drewe Kakay Fox Paal
      Field Dozzell
      Chair Richards Willock
      Dykes

we manage to get anything from this will be a miracle Watford are a thousand times superior than Oxford

In my opinion we will get a result if we keep it under 5-0
Slightly unfair on Ainsworth. JCS, here already, struggles to keep fit. Dunne, match injury, unlucky.

      Financially, signings are impossible.

Based on me watching several under 21s or under 23s whatever they call themselves

Rendell is in my opinion a very good solid centre back in the 5 or 6 games ive watched him play in....think the size of him also he could very easily slot into a full back role not sure if hes right or left footed

his got to play behind dykes and he will score double figures easy this season his fit and ready
If Richards plays behind Dykes, what about Willock and Chair. I'm not convinced by 4 2 3 1 formation.

Think rendall has only just come back from a long term injury. Fairly sure he spent the best part of a year on the sidelines.

Played for Gloucester in National League South last November. Played 25 games for Eastbourne in National League South 21/22.

Saw him against Oxford but thought he might be too short for a CB? Cant find his height info but thought he may end up as a defensive midfielder. Quite mobile and got stuck in.

If you're good enough then you're tall enough (I'm sure the saying goes something like that!).

Anyway, I remember Paul Parker playing for us as a CB several times very effectively. Also that Mascerano bloke played CB many times at the highest level and that other Argie fellow at Man Utd today (Martinez?) seems handy at CB despite being short-ish.

Anyway, it's needs as must - if he has a pulse he'll have to do.

Agreed and looked more assured than Gubbins who looked very edgy.

I think Randall will be fine in a three with WBs but probably wont have the presence in a flat back four.

Trent Rendall didn't get squad number. Suggests not in Ainsworth's plans.

Looks like Rendall was injured Feb 2023, out for 3-4 months.

I don’t think this is the worst line up given the sh*te we find ourselves in. Field at CB will bide us time until we sign another CB & Dunne / JCS (pigs might fly) are fit again. 4231

I expect Colback to be telling Dozzell in no uncertain terms if hes not pulling his weight defensively.
