Signed a new lad highly rated Steven Bala from Barnet. Extremely talented forward thinking midfielder similar in stature to Ilias chair. Had to pay compo fee.

Just read up on this lad, seems like a few clubs liked the look of him but wouldn't pay the compensation fee. Benfica wanted him and it ended up getting very messy as barnet demanded lots of add ons if bala was a success. Other clubs in England have all been linked with a move but none followed through on it. Still nothing official from anyone to say he's signed with us.

Building a reputation for developing talent and allowing them to move on should bigger clubs come in, it’s a sustainable business model and great that players are recognising what we’re doing

Part of the trouble is Barnet closed their Academy and had it's status revoked. Therefore they cannot offer games or education to their players. Barnet want compensation but players are saying the club is in breech of contract. Benfica offered him a trial but Barnet refused and told them to make an offer which could have topped £1.3m.
