It depends HOW someone passes on gossip, tbh. If they Lord it up and make themselves out to be an ITK and all that, they deserve all the reactive criticism they get when things don't come off.

If someone genuinely says, as SM1882 has, that they have heard something, it may be true or it may not, and doesn't try to live off the glory of it, then people accept that.

It's all about WHY you are delivering the gossip. Some people do it for ego, others cos they wanna share stuff genuinely.
