He played for the Dutch U21s, plays CB and LB, made over 70 appearances for Hull and fits our small wage structure. Never seen him play but there seems enough positives there.

To be fair, there seems to be a helluva lot of duff players floating about who are former internationals at U18/U21/U23 level - it's almost like a warning: avoid them! Think there's a similar thing with "former Liverpool/ManUtd trainee" too, they normally turn out to be ropey as well.
Even with full internationals you have to be careful...... I don't think Hammaleinen would get in my local pub team and it puzzles me no end how he's a Finnish international.

Reckon he failed his medical. He was having it yesterday morning so must be that. He had a calf injury anyway which made it a strange call to sign a guy who is already injured.
