Just been interviewed. Did not mention his injury. Hopefully that's a good sign.

Dykes is currently QPR’s only recognised striker and the club will be hoping the problem is not a significant one.

His two recent displays for Scotland have seen him quickly establish himself as their main frontman.

“He’s shown that he can handle this level and shown he’s going to be a good player for us in the future,” boss Steve Clarke told Sky Sports.

There was praise too from former Scotland and Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

Also speaking on Sky Sports, Fletcher said: “His attitude, work-rate and desire – proper centre-forward.

“He was a massive positive for Scotland. He’s got the jersey now. And Scotland need that presence up front.

“If anything he actually does too much work. He’s always running back and helping in defence.”

He needs to learn to pace himself.

Do we know yet if Dykes will be fit to play against Forest?

Georges Santos will be playing up front - did well in training this week.

I have a good feeling about Dykes. My main hope is that it isn't just trapped wind.

He has only really been playing properly for a few years and progressed well in that time. Seems to have a decent work ethic and could improve a lot more. Good on the club for getting this deal done.

Smyth would be my choice if Dykes is injured.

If he carries on like this he will score 46 goals by the end of the season and we will be forced to sell him for £50m

Thought he didn’t have a great game tonight. A bit lost plus blocked A possible late equaliser ( whilst off side). Not sure what his role was in the defensive corner shambles can’t bear to look at that yet.Don’t think he’s the finished article yet. ( mind you, awful support from the rest)

It must feel like playing for Scotland , zero service and chasing lost causes , shame he never got to play with Eze, rather than Amos and Carroll.

If we played like we did against Forest we would be singing a better tune.

We would and I give credit where it’s due , like against Forest .Last night was concerning not only for the goals conceded but the lack of creativity and goal threats .

There was a moment we sprung an attack and Dykes was onto the ball in a foot race with one or two defender 40yds out. He clearly has no pace whatsoever and they smothered him within 5yds. Not being a sprinter never harmed likes of Austin though - we need to see what Dykes does with any presentable chances we give him in front of goal. Thus far he clearly has a lot of energy and patience whilst toiling away as a lone striker and I like the way he doesnt appear to whine or flap his arms about in a petulant display blaming the team or lack of service. Also, I love way he remains totally in a corridor roughly the width of the goal posts and doesn't drift out wide looking for space - that's how strikers get goals.
