The difference between what we've seen the past few games, and the first half versus Luton (where we blitzed them) is the speed and pace of play. Lately, we've had none of that, none of the proverbial "playing on the front foot". Clearly our back line of Hall, Leistner, and Rangel are slow afoot. Short of drafting faster CBs (which we should) and playing Masterson (which we should) the only logical answer is moving the ball faster from the back, starting with the goalie.
This must become a priority in practice moving forward, because there is no prospect our defense can or will improve unless we pass with urgency, distribute with urgency, and attack with urgency. Translation: get the ball to Eze and Chair and Manning as fast as we can, not to Toni or Grant or Angerl as slow as we can.
