Very true. Yes the owners sanctioned the money for transfers but if we'd have had a financial savvy ceo like Hoos quite a lot of those deals would have been off the table and in turn the atmosphere within the club would have been better. There were far too many bad attitudes come in. Beard obviously didn't have a clue about the finances or couldn't see things going wrong or blatantly didn't give a monkeys.

I think it was more to do with him just being given a pretty much open cheque book by the ex-Chairman.
