                                Still can't believe some vehemently defended him. Sure, he worked hard, but a striker's job is to score goals, and he just didn't do that often enough.

                                            No, I don’t think he has. Certainly not according to that font of all knowledge, Wikipedia. Although it does indicate he had a good goals to games ratio at St Ives Town.
