  • My quick take

End of the day, a point is better than nothing. But for me that's 2 points dropped. Birmingham are gash. What frustrated me the most is that for a lot of the second half we didn't seem to want to attack at all, and if we had I think we'd have won that. Frustrated, but I'll take a point.
Wells and Hemed were ineffective but I don't blame them, the 2 passengers behind them did practically nothing for the whole 90, Cousins and Luongo provided no movement, both were slow and lazy as hell. Weak links.
Otherwise, we played ok. Just wish we had attacked them more.

What left me bemused is not just the fact that I think we should of given at least one of BOS or Wsolev a start today if not both but the fact that the game was there for the taking and we played no wingers.

He didn’t make a change until the 80th minute which was crazy as it was clear Hemed and Wells needed some support in terms of crosses and through balls.

I'd say so mate. Marginally better than we have been so far this season.

I think we had to travel away from home and keep the door shut. That was clearly the priority, and thats why we set up so deep. Smac didn't want to give them a sniff.

Downside is that that they were there for the taking..... but given our start I get why we set up that way.

This and given that SMC had already stated that they had to find a way to play around the strengths of Wells and Hemed and expected wingers to provide crosses into the box.

Also, how did Smith manage to head the ball on to the post from close range ?

I'm definitely happy with the clean sheet, and actually the back 4 and keeper today were excellent. Very solid indeed. Even Bidwell.

We didn’t keep clean sheets two games in a row all last season.

Because after losing our last away game 7-1 ,he wanted to ensure we didn't lose this game, understandable

I agree with the sentiment I]that in the second part of the second half we slowed things down, telegraphing we were content with a tie. No sense of urgency, no sense of pace, rather odd given we had dominated the game. What’s the reason for that?

eze should not be played on the wing, he doesn't get about enough to be a winger. tbh i thought we were okay yesterday and i'm happy with the point. i was there but my god it was a boring game
