Problem with free agents is that it's quite likely that they are not match fit. Our needs are obviously urgent and we need an instant lift and not another 4 games down the line.

This is a good point.

By the time they are match fit we could have already played 10 matches and who's honestly going to say that they don't think we would have lost at least 8 of those?

By the time we have everyone ready to play we could already be 8-10 points adrift. Not insurmountable, of course, but with a quarter of the season gone already, as it will be, it makes life very difficult.

We only gave him three months off he wanted four. Let him go early was perfect example of what soft touch of a club we are
