i think in the old paper ticket days, this 50 quid fee was to try to prevent people claiming they'd lost their ticket book even if they hadnt, getting a new one sent out and then giving that new book to a mate. the mate would then sit in any seat that was available. which apparently went on quite a bit.

not sure how that now applies with barcoding? presumably the system will know if the card has already been scanned once?

would imagine they could just cancel the old ST like they would do with a credit card.

Here's a link to the rules and regs regarding season tickets etc.

It does say there about a charge of £50 for lost cards

i would love to know how they can justify charging supporters (who have already paid over the odds for a ST) that amount of money for a replacement.

just another scheme to squeeze every penny out of supporters .

I have actually been dealing with the installation of an access control system at work which is basically programable FOB's which is what your ST is.

Literally it would take the club 5 mins to print you a new one and program a new card. The technology is pretty basic to operate and they probably have the FOB programmer and printer out the back of the BO.

Working on economies of scale £5 would be a fair price to replace the FOB, but GT LeighRs is right they should be free.

Looking at Reading, it looks as though they charge £2 for another card. Watford say an "appropriate charge".
Quite poor on Watford's part as really they should state how much. But anyway, whatever it is, I'll bet it's not £50!

                    Oh, and W12. Good post.

cheers W12. shows the simplicity of the system yet they are charging a huge fee. such a shame

To put things in perspective; they charged my son £25.00 for a duplicate ST two seasons ago.

Though £50 is a 100% increase; it would appear that "the club" has always taken a dim veiw of loyal fans. (well for the past three years or so anyway.)
