Fair play to him for doing well at Swansea and hope he goes on to do well like any other manager and still think we can finish above them... we have to as it's the club we love.

Problem with QPR is that we've had another 10 managers at this club this season which don't help at all.

But surely part of the reason for tha was the real lack of attacking options available.

Blackstock was not wanted by FB, Rowlands, Buzsaky, Vine, Cook & Agyemang were injured.

He mostly had the following options in midfield; Mahon, Leigertwood, Miller, Ephraim and Routledge and towards the last few games Lopez & Taarabt.

The latter played in about 4 or 5 of Sousa's last games of which 2 were wins and 2 were draws.

you just have to compare the two.how much have they spent?.how much have we spent?.how many goals have they conceded?.us.how many goals have they scored?.us?.where are they now?.Where are we?.the usual suspects attempting to defend the indefensabile.the club is only a joke because of gp and his accolytes.you know who you are.

        Not a dig, I promise!
        Just curious.
(I respected what Sousa was trying to do as well.)
Never met the man, but I think the principle idea of the role can work.
English football has not embraced the idea, but who's to say just because
it happens abroad it's no good here.

GP's role at HQ LOOKS similar to Peter Kenyon's roles at Man Utd and Chelsea. Grant and Hiddink didn't seem free to sign their own players, but they're competent coaches.

Our problems stem from impatience at board (and fan) level. Sousa was doing what good managers do. He was building from the back. He didn't have the luxury of a fit Buzsaky, Vine or it seems, a fit Helguson and Cook. He lost Rowlands early too. He's taken a Swansea team that finished 8th and got them to 5th (though Leicester have games in hand).

He's already been linked with Premier league jobs and Swansea MAY find it hard to keep him.

De Canio did a fair job, though we fell away after blowing a 2 goal lead against Burnley (After our fans wound up Andy Cole, of course). I believe that
the board had faith in him and we would be in a better position than now if he had stayed.

Both had potential to thrive in the DOF based system. Whether the current incumbent is the best man for the job is questionable, but that question shouldn't devalue the role itself.
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are...

If he didn't do well at QPR, why is Sousa doing well at Swansea?

            All irrevelant

he didn't do well at QPR !!!

Keane done well at Sunderland, but doing no good at Ipswich

            Another example would be

Holloway who got Leicester relegated, but doing well at Blackpool

But why is he doing well now? Better players? More experienced?

Loooking at the goal average could be very lucky.

If Swansea finish in the top 6 end of thi season he would have done a great job. I'm just not carried away with 20 odd games to go.

Actually given the players AVAILABLE to him then yes he did reasonably well , then again there is no way Burnley will finish above us, Swansea will get relegated, Gorkks is crap, Routledge was never that good, Sousa alledgedly was on bungs and we all used to be forever blowing bubbles and have bad toothaches.

                  Opinions opinions...

And yet you claim Lecce will be champions - with 19 games to go

Wasnt doing bad and not given the time to do well.

Has been given the time and is now climbing the league. I wager they finish above us.

I am suprised anyone expects intelligent discussion with Pete .. maybe we should have a thread listing all the intelligent discussions Pete has made a positive contribution to. Usually just takes it round in circles spouting the same stuff
